SAFETY TIPS
1.) Organize your kitchen. Set up cabinets for spices and dry goods.
2.) Do not climb onto to counters to reach items in cabinets use a step ladder.
3.) Before using the stove or microwave read the instruction manual on how to properly use them.
4.) Have a fire plan in case of an emergency.
5.) Do not use knives or other kitchen equipment without proper training.
6.) Keep the floor dry, wipe up spills right away to prevent slips and falls.
7.) Pay attention to what you are doing in the kitchen and take your time to carefully read the recipe and instructions before you start to prepare a recipe.
8.) When removing something hot from the oven use pot holder and make sure you set the pot or pan on a cutting board or trivet. Do not use the counter.
9.) Wash all fruits, meats and vegetables carefully with cold water before using.
10.) Always pick up knives and other equipment by the handle, not the blade.
11.) Plug in electrical appliances with dry hands. Unplug them as soon as you are finished using them.
12.) When using the stove turn the pan handles away from you and the edge of stove.
13.) Hold the pot handle firmly while you are stirring food on the stove.
14.) Remember to turn off the oven and stove burners to “OFF” after you are finished using them.
15.) If there is a fire in the oven or stove, do not pour water on fire use baking soda or salt.
